Extensive, intricately detailed Banjara hand embroidery done using silk and linen threads with beautiful design motifs, stunning floral patterns and sparkling mirror work. These stunning handmade banjara tote and gypsy bags are made from authentic RABARI and BANJARA textiles which are quite old and may show signs of wear. Each bag takes several weeks to be crafted using vintage embroidered fabric patches in alluring color combinations.
All the bags featured in my store are hand crafted or hand embroidered. My goal is to showcase these amazingly beautiful ethnic bags to the world, in doing so, highlighting the talent and unique local craft of my country, INDIA!

Banjara craft is practiced by the Banjara or nomadic tribal also known as the "lambadis". Banjara textiles are expressive of their exuberance, the entire piece being gathered together using gaily colored fabrics embellished with mirrors, glass beads and cowrie shells. This craft is characterized by exciting colors, fascinating combinations and exquisite hand embroidery. Products that showcase Banjara needle craft include bags, belts, batwas or purses, skirts, blouses, cushions, bedspreads, quilts, yokes, borders and salwar suits. Drawing upon the tradition of the past, the Banjara embroidery by the Banjarans (the lambadi" womenfolk) evokes a scintillating flight of fancy.

To make this handmade wall hanging our in-house artisans collected the clothes like saree , salwar suite , cotton top etc from different houses and tribal people then we segregate them according to their colors and them cut them into small pieces as per our requirement. From them our designers and craftsman take a base silk/cotton fabric and decorate it with fantastic embroideries, pearls and mirrors.
Vibrant multiple fabric patches forming the base of the tapestry have been picked from old vintage period Banjara clothing like the skirts, cholis, saris, rich heavy embellished dresses and lehngas to create a classic collage of enchanting embroideries, fine textures and exuberant colors! Banjara craft is practiced by the Banjara or nomadic tribal also known as the "lambadis". Banjara textiles are expressive of their exuberance, the entire piece being gathered together using gaily colored fabrics embellished with mirrors, glass beads and cowrie shells. This craft is characterized by exciting colors, fascinating combinations and exquisite hand embroidery. To make this handmade wall hanging our in-house artisans collected the clothes like saree , salwar suite , cotton top etc from different houses and tribal people then we segregate them according to their colors and them cut them into small pieces as per our requirement. From them our designers and craftsman take a base silk/cotton fabric and decorate it with fantastic embroideries, pearls and mirrors.
Vibrant multiple fabric patches forming the base of the tapestry have been picked from old vintage period Banjara clothing like the skirts, cholis, saris, rich heavy embellished dresses and lehngas to create a classic collage of enchanting embroideries, fine textures and exuberant colors!
